In the domain of technology-enhanced health professions education in a pan-African context, the objectives of the Consortium are to:
Share innovative and effective modalities for online learning;
Share effective responses to emergencies in the teaching-learning environment;
Conduct research addressing local and regional needs;
Promote ‘border-less’ cooperation between institutions and between countries;
Promote effectiveness and efficiency in situations with limited technological and human resources;
Develop and maintain the capacity of health professions educators;
Share effective mechanisms of quality control;
Involve healthcare students as co-constructors of learning;
Advocate for the integration of technology-enhanced education into mainstream programmes;
Carry out such other activities which are necessary and or incidental to the attainment of the above objectives
In the domain of technology-enhanced health professions education in a pan-African context, the objectives of the Consortium are to:
Good governance, transparency and accountability.
Open and equitable access to information.
Social responsibility.
Voluntary stakeholder participation
The Consortium will be managed by an Executive Committee, elected every three years by secret ballot of members at an Annual General Meeting.
The Executive Committee will be responsible for implementing decisions taken by members at an AGM or at interim meetings. It will also appoint an Advisory Board of experts in Technology Enhanced HPE, to provide the Consortium with technical and academic guidance and advice.
